Enchanting Bride

Amanda & Josh | Celebrations at the Bay Wedding | Maryland Wedding Planner

Walking out of Starbucks after our initial consultation, I said a prayer that Amanda and Josh would book with us. As I sat with them and their moms, I knew they were the type of clients we wanted to spend time planning with. Amanda knew what she wanted and Josh knew he wanted to make sure Amanda had everything on her list. Their moms, Maureen and Sue, wanted both of them to have their wishes come true.

The five of us talked like we had known each other forever, and that remained the same for the entire planning process. From getting to see Amanda & Josh's new house, then Sue's new house, bonding over the news of Baby Volpe and going over every personal wedding detail, we all had so much fun. The wedding weekend arrived and I was overjoyed to know that these two were finally becoming husband and wife because they were 110% meant for each other.

The weekend was beautiful, and Josh had the very best reaction of any groom when he saw Amanda for the first time. It melted my heart, and I am sure everyone else's as well. The love these two have for each other is hard to explain, it's the kind that you can tell it's easy for them because they are perfect together, as they have been for almost 10 years! Their families also have a love for them that bursts out of their hearts at all times. The Palmer and Chiasson families will always have a special places in our hearts, what an adventure it was with all of them!

Amanda and Josh answered some fun questions that we didn't have the chance to share before their wedding, check out their answers below!

How did you meet?

We met at an 8th grade graduation pool party. He got my number through a mutual friend because we both thought that the other was cute, but we were too nervous to ask for each others' number in person. We went on a couple adorably awkward junior high dates. He asked me to be his girlfriend at my freshman homecoming dance and now we're getting married!

LOVE these three!!

LOVE these three!!

What was your favorite part of wedding planning?

Our favorite part of wedding planning is seeing our dream come to life before our eyes. Yes, a wedding can be very stressful at times, but I wouldn't want to go through it with anyone else but him.

Do you have any advice for future brides and grooms?

My advice would be to stay patient and be kind. There are going to be times when wedding planning will seem to be extremely stressful and you are drowning in decisions, but always take a step back, remember why you are getting married, and make time for each other. Don't forget to have some spontaneous date nights!!!

Lauren & Ryan | Morais Vineyards Virginia Wedding | Virginia Wedding Planner

What a wedding this one was! I can't believe it was 6 months ago already. Lauren & Ryan had the most beautiful day, with the clouds clearing hours before the ceremony even though it was calling for storms all afternoon.

I had so much fun planning with these two and their families. They feel like friends I have had forever at this point. Several meetings over margaritas, texts about the Lilly Pulitzer Swell bottle release, and three sets of Mickey Mouse ears later, they are married. I love reliving this day through the amazing photos from Leah Adkins, and the video from Nugen...SWOON.

I truly admire the love these two have, not only for each other, but for their family and friends as well. Lauren & Ryan let their loved ones know how special they are to them, and we felt so warm and welcome into their group. Lauren's mom even made me a cape and gave me a wand to represent the nickname I had been given- their Fairy Godmother. The feeling of sadness and excitement the day after a wedding is always there, as newlyweds partake on a great adventure but the planning has ended, it's been bittersweet ever since!

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Milligan! Thank you for trusting us to be your wedding planners! It's a day we will never forget <3

One thing we always try to include in the timeline is a reception sneak peak, when everything is setup but untouched by guests. The perfect time for a spin around the dance floor!

Meet An Enchanting Couple: Shannon & Stephen

I had my first conversation with Shannon & Stephen last year and we had a laughter filled conversation about being organized, design and all things wedding. Shannon has the most bubbly personality and I knew instantly that it would be an honor to be the wedding planner for her and Stephen's wedding.

These two are so sweet and I have enjoyed every part of this planning process with them. A few weeks after we started working together, Shannon told me that she noticed I used Trello and asked if we could use it for planning...YES! A girl right after my own organizational, detail-oriented, heart. Really though, Trello has made this planning thing a breeze between the two of us...but more on that in another post ;)

If I could replicate the coolest "bride-chilla" it would be Shannon and Stephen has the cool groom thing down. I can't wait for you to meet these two!

A special thank you to Nichole Meredith Photography for sending these engagement photos right after the session. CAN NOT WAIT to work together <3

How did you meet?
Stephen and I met online, but at the time it was kind of taboo to say so! So for years we said our parents were family friends to anyone who wasn't close to us until the modern age of internet dating became less odd.

How did the proposal take place?
Well... It's kind of an embarrassing story for me (shannon). We had taken a day trip to NYC and the weather was so nice that we decided to visit Central Park Zoo. We had timed it perfectly. We could see the whole zoo and end the day with a seal show. After taking a quick water break, I was making my way back to the "stage" where Stephen kept mumbling about how much he liked our day trip, how we could "do things like this forever", and how spending time with me was everything he ever wanted. At this point, I gave him a pointed look and basically brushed him off, eager to make it to the show. Essentially I patted him on the head with a "That's sweet. Not now, 'kay? I wanna see the seal show!" And kept walking. It wasn't until he threw himself in front of me and got on one knee that I even had an inkling as to what he was doing. There was a lot of ugly crying and he bought me a stuffed seal and promised we could watch the show next time. I'm still mortified, but he loves telling the story.

What was your favorite part of wedding planning?
I am kind of 50/50 on everything. I seriously bemoaned huge hunks of the wedding while simultaneously being really excited about things like flowers, invitations, and the food tasting. The most fun I've had, though, is probably the invites since I had the most hands on time with them. Designing, assembling, and doing the calligraphy.

What are your wedding colors or theme? What was your inspiration?
Purples and Golds! We stumbled into "booze & books." Because all of the themes and ideas Stephen and I leaned towards came back around for out love of books and a great glass of wine or liquor. So it's all about romantic and cozy and a lot of literary references.

What are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?
Family. I haven't seen a lot of the people who are coming in a very long time! Korea. United Kingdom. Australia. West Coast. People are coming from all over and I find that we're really fortunate to have so many people who love us enough to come.

Are you taking a honeymoon? Where will you be going?
We'll be taking a mini-moon after the wedding to the Northeast and maybe Canada. Bed and Breakfasts, scenic drives, and historic sites!

Do you have any advice for future brides & grooms?
Breath. Make lists. Trust your planner. There are going to be times when you feel like you have all the time in the world and some days when it feels like nothing will be done in time. Stick to your lists, schedule, and prioritize what's really important to you, everything else is just extra!

We can't wait for these two to tie the knot next week! Stay tuned for a stunner!

Jon & Irene | Baltimore Wedding | Maryland Wedding Planner

Jon & Irene are one of the most touching, stylish and kind couples I have met. I have known Jon since high school, (Go Eastern Tech!) which is also where he met Irene. The two were back and forth between dating and once they ended up together Jon was sure to plan the most incredible proposal on a beach in Greece with their family surrounding them.

Their wedding day was emotional, inviting and beautiful in so many ways. They made sure to thank friends and family several times throughout the evening, reminding everyone it was as much their celebration of love as it was for Jon & Irene themselves.

Baltimore lived it up along with them with fireworks over Federal Hill, beautiful bistro lights hung among the American Visionary Art Museum, and an after-party at Bookmakers.

Thank you, Jon & Irene for giving us the honor of being your wedding planners. We wish both of you a lifetime full of happiness and good music :)

Thank you to the amazing vendor team that made this magic happen!
