You know how they say rain on your wedding day is good luck? Well, we think rain on your styled shoot day is as well! This shoot was planned for late May, and we thought we would be passed the April showers, but we were wrong. It started pouring down rain at 2pm, the exact time the shoot was set to begin and it rained until 20 minutes before sunset. We didn't let that stop us!
The thing about rain, wind, snow, etc. is that you have to work around it. You need to go with the flow, shift things as needed, and still make magic happen. Instead of everything being outside, we moved the reception under an awning, styled the cake in a beautiful bay window, and did some portraits in the entrance. We decided to venture out in the rain for some more portraits, and all of a sudden the rain stopped! If you could have seen all of us standing around with our Umbrellas, watching Anne work her magic, then realizing it had stopped raining. It was great!
Even with the rain, this shoot was amazing. I may be biased, but these are some of the best creatives in this industry. We all chatted like we have known each other forever. We worked together like we had done it countless times. We laughed until we cried over Chick-fil-A nuggets. We packed up our car that night feeling so full of joy and happiness for the friends we have in this wedding world, and for the memories that were made.
Thank you again to EVERY SINGLE ONE of you that helped to bring this vision to life. It was the best rainy day!
